As future historians we will face certain challenges in regards to researching topics of interest whether it is our dissertations or writing a peer-reviewed article or book. The advice most students will hear is to write what you know. Sometimes this is difficult especially if you have not followed the scholarship. This is the case with me, I have not kept up with the scholarship, but terrorism is something I am familiar since studying it for my MA dissertation while attending the University of Leeds in 1990.
